Workshop "BIF – hosted Iron Ore Deposits of Ukraine: Current Problems and Development Prospects"

Nataliia Bariatska, CEO of Softmine LLC, and Oleg Anisimov, Associate Professor of the Department of surface mining of the Dnipro University of Technology, jointly participated in the conference “BIF – hosted Iron Ore Deposits of Ukraine: Current Problems and Development Prospects”, organised by the Department of Geology of Mineral Deposits and the Department of Mineralogy, Geochemistry and Petrography of the Educational and Scientific Institute “Institute of Geology” of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The conference discussed the geology of Ukraine’s iron ore deposits, their comparison with other significant iron ore deposits in the world, the role of their development for the national economy of Ukraine, the structure and organisation of mining and processing plants, ore mining and processing technologies, etc.

Oleg Ainsimov and Nataliia Bariatskaya’s presentation “Improving the Current Scheduling of Mining Operations in Iron Ore Open Pits of Ukrainian” discussed the hierarchy and algorithm for open pit mining operations scheduling from strategic to operational using Micromine Beyond Scheduler.
