Training on Modelling and Resource Estimation for SCMR of Ukraine

From 13 to 15 May, the State Commission of Ukraine for Mineral Resources hosted a training on geological modelling and resource estimation of mineral deposits in Micromine software. The training was delivered by Dr Nataliia Bariatska, CEO of Softmine LLC and Nina Safronova, Project Manager of Softmine LLC. 

The training was prepared taking into account the professional interests of the participants and covered the following key issues:

• ◦ import of geological data, geological and block models and others into Micromine,
• ◦ use of different coordinate systems and coordinate conversion,
• ◦ analysis and processing of exploration data, 
• ◦ geological wireframe modelling,
• ◦ block modelling and resource estimation.

The application of international best practices in the mineral resource estimation is currently important, in line with the European and global standards implementation in other sectors of the Ukrainian economy.
