Micromine Academic Licence Presentation at the Kryvyi Rih National University

Innovative software is an important component of modern geological education, particularly in Ukraine. Micromine offers a special licensing programme for universities (Micromine’s Academic Licensing Scheme), which has been introduced in over 115 academic institutions around the world and continues to expand.

In the framework of collaboration with Ukrainian geological universities, on 7 March 2024, Softmine LLC held an online presentation for professors and students of Kryvyi Rih National University on the possibilities of the Micromine Origin & Beyond Academic Licence.

The presentation was joined by professors and students from the Department of Open Pit Mining, the Department of Undeground Deposit Mining and the Department of Geology and Applied Mineralogy and Ecology (over 30 participants in total).

During the meeting, the prospects of Micromine software implementation for teaching geological educational programmes were discussed, as well as the possibilities of training professors and students using the online learning platform (Micromine Learning Management System).

The presentation was followed by a discussion of Micromine’s compatibility with other software products and file formats, additional training opportunities, implicit modelling functions, and many other issues.
