Standard Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) Approaches and their Application to Historical Geological Data Verification

The paper considers modern approaches to quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) of geological and laboratory analytical data and their application to the verification of historical geological data. The main types of control samples are characterized.

The specific quality control practices applied during historical geological exploration are examined. An approach is proposed for correlating traditional quality control procedures with international QA/QC programs. It is demonstrated that certain historical procedures, based on their functional purpose, can be correlated with international QA/QC practices.
